Job Title: Senior Mechanical Rotating Equipment Engineer
Location: Stavanger, Norway
Job Type: Contract
Role Overview:
In this role, you may act as PRE (Package Responsible Engineer) for rotating equipment packages, with primary responsibility for the compressor package. You will play a key role in ensuring quality, compliance, and successful delivery within a major energy project.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as PRE for rotating equipment packages.
Take ownership of compressor package delivery.
Prepare technical specifications and requisitions.
Evaluate supplier bids and provide technical assessments.
Participate in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT).
Ensure compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering (or equivalent experience).
Strong experience with rotating equipment (pumps, turbines, compressors).
Solid understanding of NORSOK R-001 / R-002.
Knowledge of international standards and design codes.
Familiarity with API pump requirements and Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC.
Preferred Experience:
Experience as a Mechanical Field Engineer.
Cross-disciplinary understanding (e.g., piping).
Experience in PRE/PRD roles.
Specific experience with compressor systems.
Technical & Functional Strengths:
Production and package management.
Strong knowledge of safety and regulatory requirements.
Experience with supplier follow-up and quality assurance.
Contract understanding and technical evaluation.
