Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior SAP R2R Consultant – FI/CO Module with 8–10 years of proven expertise in SAP Finance and Controlling, specializing in the Record-to-Report (R2R) process. The ideal candidate will have strong end-to-end implementation experience, deep functional knowledge of SAP FI/CO, and the ability to optimize financial processes across complex business environments. Experience in industries such as Manufacturing, Life Sciences, Oil & Gas, Retail, or Engineering is highly valued.
Key Responsibilities:
SAP FI/CO & R2R Functional Leadership
Lead the design, configuration, implementation, and support of SAP FI/CO solutions covering General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Asset Accounting, Bank Accounting, Closing & Reporting.
Manage end-to-end Record-to-Report processes including journal entries, intercompany accounting, reconciliations, month-end close, and statutory reporting.
Configure SAP solutions to align with business requirements, internal controls, and regulatory standards.
Support global finance transformation initiatives and standardization of finance processes.
Business Process Improvement
Analyze current financial processes and identify opportunities for automation, optimization, and harmonization.
Improve month-end and year-end closing efficiency, reporting accuracy, and compliance controls.
Recommend best practices for financial governance and operational excellence.
Cross-Functional Integration
Ensure seamless integration between SAP FI/CO and modules such as MM, SD, PP, PS, and Treasury.
Support end-to-end business scenarios involving procurement, billing, production costing, project accounting, and asset capitalization.
Resolve cross-module issues impacting finance operations and reporting.
Stakeholder Management & Support
Work closely with finance teams, business users, IT teams, and leadership stakeholders.
Provide expert support for reconciliation issues, posting errors, tax challenges, closing delays, and reporting discrepancies.
Conduct workshops, gather requirements, and translate business needs into SAP solutions.
Documentation & Governance
Prepare and maintain configuration documents, functional specifications, process flows, test scripts, and training materials.
Ensure full auditability, traceability, and compliance with project governance standards.
Support internal and external audits related to finance systems and controls.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
Stay current with SAP innovations including SAP S/4HANA Finance, Universal Journal, Fiori applications, and embedded analytics.
Drive continuous enhancements for faster closing cycles, automation, and improved reporting capabilities.
Required Qualifications:
8–10 years of hands-on SAP FI/CO consulting experience with strong Record-to-Report expertise.
Proven success in multiple full-cycle SAP implementations and support projects.
Strong knowledge of General Ledger, AP, AR, Asset Accounting, Cost Center Accounting, Profit Center Accounting, and Internal Orders.
Experience in month-end close, financial reconciliation, statutory reporting, and management reporting.
Strong understanding of integration with MM, SD, PP, and PS modules.
Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Experience working in global, multi-country, or matrix organizations.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in Engineering, Construction & Operations (EC&O), Manufacturing, Oil & Gas, Retail, or Life Sciences sectors.
Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA Finance migrations or greenfield implementations.
Knowledge of SAP Fiori apps, workflow automation, and financial analytics tools.
Familiarity with SOX controls, audit processes, tax compliance, and internal financial controls.
Education & Certifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
Master’s degree (MBA Finance / Accounting / Business Administration) is preferred.
SAP FI/CO Certification or SAP S/4HANA Finance Certification is highly desirable.
