Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Building Engineer to support a fast-paced engineering project in Skien, Norway. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in structural building design, composite steel and concrete structures, and European structural design standards. This role requires close collaboration with the project team during the final project phase, with a strong focus on technical accuracy, code compliance, and practical engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform structural building design and engineering calculations for industrial/commercial structures.
Develop and review structural steel designs involving composite action with concrete.
Apply and interpret relevant Eurocodes, particularly Eurocode 2 and Eurocode 4.
Review and validate structural analysis models and reports generated from Robot Structural Analysis.
Ensure compliance with fire safety requirements, including fire protection and insulation standards.
Identify applicable standards and engineering code requirements, including those not explicitly specified in project documentation.
Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to support project execution and delivery.
Participate in on-site coordination and technical discussions during the final project stages as required.
Support preparation and review of engineering documentation and technical reports.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
Solid experience in structural building design and engineering.
Strong knowledge of Eurocode 2 and Eurocode 4.
Hands-on experience with structural steel design in composite action with concrete.
Understanding of fire requirements, fire protection, and insulation systems.
Proficiency in Robot Structural Analysis and interpretation of Robot-generated reports.
Ability to independently identify and apply relevant engineering standards and code requirements.
Good communication skills in English.
Availability for close collaboration and potential on-site work during the final project phase.
