Senior Platform Engineer
The platform is yours to own. Build the infrastructure that makes AI actually work — and set the pace at a well-funded NYC startup.
Location: New York, NY (On-site, 4-5 days/week in-office)
Salary: $200K - $240K + Competitive Equity
About the Opportunity
The company is building the future of infrastructure management — a platform that investigates, resolves, and prevents issues, giving engineers their time back to focus on building great products. We're looking for a Platform Engineer to own the foundational primitives and surfaces that power product engineering velocity, service infrastructure, and the connectivity layer between agents and customer environments.
You'll architect and operate the systems that every agent invocation, every customer onboarding, and every code review depends on — from internal admin tooling to deploy pipelines to an MCP gateway. Your work compounds across every team that builds on top of you, and you'll partner closely with product, FDE, and research.
This is a core, high-ownership role where your decisions directly shape how fast the team ships and scales.
What you'll do?
Architect and optimize development infrastructure including internal admin tooling, CI/CD, deploy pipelines, and dev/demo environments
Build and maintain core service infrastructure on Kubernetes including observability (OTEL, Datadog), secret management, and shared libraries
Own data infrastructure including schema, storage, and access patterns for investigation traces, agent trajectories, resource graphs, and customer telemetry
Own the MCP gateway routing every tool call, OAuth and credential management, and lifecycle of self-hosted MCP servers
Maintain the unified integration catalog powering first-class and long-tail customer integrations
Set the bar for what "production-ready" means across all product teams
Use AI aggressively in your engineering workflow — the team are heavy users of Claude Code
What Sets This Role Apart?
Direct ownership of the platform layer that every engineer and agent depends on
Multiplier effect across the entire engineering org — when you improve the inner loop, every team ships faster
Work at the intersection of AI-native infrastructure, agent systems, and enterprise connectivity
Early-stage, high-trust environment with room to define architecture and standards
Spacious, collaborative in-person office in New York with a team of ambitious, systems-thinking builders
Competitive compensation with meaningful equity at a well-funded AI-native startup
Qualifications
3–10 years of experience in platform, infrastructure, or backend engineering (titles like Platform Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer, Developer Productivity, Integrations Platform Engineer)
Strong fundamentals in service-oriented architectures, networking, and systems design
Proficient in TypeScript with hands-on experience operating production services on Kubernetes
Proven ability to take ambiguous goals from prototype to production using customer and operational feedback
Strong code and data modeling skills — clean, scalable, and easy to extend
Product-focused mindset: you measure success by whether the engineers you serve love what you built
Nice to Have
Experience with MCP, OAuth, API gateways, or multi-tenant integration platforms
Strong knowledge with modern observability (OTEL, distributed tracing) and SRE best practices
Expertise in building internal admin or developer tooling consumed by both humans and agents
Well-versed in working on agent or LLM systems — context management, tool use, sandboxing
Additional Information
On-site role in New York, NY (4-5 days/week in office)
Visa sponsorship: TN and Singaporean visas supported; H-1B transfers considered; new H-1B sponsorship not available
Strong preference for candidates with startup experience or a zero-to-one mindset
