Business Analyst

Role Purpose
The Business Analyst supports the successful delivery of IT projects by bridging business needs and technology solutions. The role is responsible for understanding business requirements, analysing processes, and translating needs into clear functional specifications to support system implementation, enhancement, and change initiatives managed by the IT Project Management team. The Business Analyst works closely with business stakeholders, IT Project Managers, internal technical teams, and external vendors throughout the project lifecycle, from requirements definition through testing, implementation, and post-go-live support.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Requirements Gathering & Analysis
Engage stakeholders to understand business objectives, operational needs, and system challenges.
Conduct requirement-gathering sessions, workshops, and interviews with business users.
Analyse and document business requirements in clear, structured formats such as:
Business Requirements Documents (BRD)
Functional Requirements Specifications (FRS)
Use cases, user stories, and process flows
Ensure requirements are complete, traceable, and aligned with project objectives.
2. Process Analysis & Documentation
Analyse existing (“as-is”) business processes and identify improvement opportunities.
Define future (“to-be”) processes aligned with system capabilities and business goals.
Document workflows, data flows, and system interactions to support development and testing activities.
3. Project Delivery Support
Support IT Project Managers in scope definition, planning, and change management activities.
Assist in assessing and documenting change requests and their impact on business processes and systems.
Support risk and issue identification related to requirements, data, or process dependencies.
4. Testing & User Acceptance Support
Develop test scenarios and test cases based on approved business requirements.
Coordinate and support System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with business users.
Validate that delivered solutions meet approved requirements prior to production deployment.
5. Stakeholder & Vendor Coordination
Act as a key point of contact for requirement clarifications between business users, IT teams, and vendors.
Support vendor discussions related to functional gaps, defects, and system enhancements.
Ensure timely and effective communication across project stakeholders.
6. Implementation & Post-Go-Live Support
Support go-live activities including user readiness, documentation, and training materials.
Assist in post-implementation reviews and stabilization activities.
Analyse post-go-live issues and support corrective actions or enhancements.
Key Skills & Competencies
Technical & Professional Skills
Solid understanding of IT project delivery and SDLC methodologies.
Strong experience in business analysis, requirements documentation, and functional specification.
Experience supporting SIT, UAT, and production deployment activities.
Proficiency in documentation and analysis tools (e.g. Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Jira or similar tools).
Soft Skills
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Analytical, structured, and detail-oriented approach.
Ability to work effectively with both business and technical teams.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a project-driven environment.
