Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Technical Manager – Fuel Additives with deep expertise in gasoline and diesel fuel treatment technologies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, evaluating, promoting, and supporting fuel additive solutions while driving technical excellence and commercial growth across multiple markets.
The role combines technical expertise, product development, customer support, regulatory compliance, and business development.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Expertise & Product Management
Act as the company's Subject Matter Expert (SME) for fuel additives and fuel treatment technologies.
Evaluate and recommend additive solutions for:
Octane Boosters
Cetane Improvers
Deposit Control Additives
Fuel System Cleaners
Fuel Stabilizers
Corrosion Inhibitors
Lubricity Improvers
Cold Flow Improvers (CFI)
Anti-Gel Additives
Emission Reduction Additives
Combustion Catalysts
Provide technical recommendations for refinery, terminal, and retail fuel applications.
Product Development & Evaluation
Support development and customization of fuel additive formulations.
Conduct laboratory and field performance evaluations.
Design and supervise product trials.
Analyze fuel quality and additive performance data.
Work closely with laboratories and suppliers to validate product performance claims.
Technical Sales Support
Support sales teams during customer meetings and technical discussions.
Conduct customer training sessions and technical presentations.
Assist in tender submissions and technical proposals.
Support distributor onboarding and customer implementation programs.
Customer & Market Support
Visit fuel marketers, oil companies, distributors, terminals, and industrial customers.
Troubleshoot fuel quality and performance-related issues.
Recommend solutions to improve fuel efficiency, engine performance, and emissions.
Build and maintain strong technical relationships with key customers.
Regulatory & Quality Compliance
Ensure products comply with ASTM, EN, and regional fuel standards.
Maintain technical documentation and product certifications.
Support product registration activities where required.
Supplier & Technology Management
Interface with global additive manufacturers and technology partners.
Evaluate new additive technologies and innovations.
Benchmark products against competing technologies.
Training & Knowledge Development
Train internal teams on fuel chemistry and additive technologies.
Develop technical manuals, brochures, and application guidelines.
Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and technological developments.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's Degree in:
Chemical Engineering
Petroleum Engineering
Chemistry
Fuel Technology
Mechanical Engineering
Preferred
Master's Degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Fuels Technology, or related disciplines.
Certifications related to fuel technology, refining, or lubricant chemistry.
Experience Required
8–15 years of experience in:
