Role Overview:
We are seeking a motivated Engineer – Simulator for one of our clients to join a multidisciplinary engineering team in Stavanger. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, configuring, and maintaining simulator systems for Siemens control systems in the oil & gas sector. The position involves installation, testing, and ongoing development of virtual environments, as well as collaboration with clients and internal teams. You will contribute to simulator projects, ensuring systems operate efficiently and meet quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, configure, and maintain simulator systems for Siemens control systems.
Install and set up virtual systems, including VMware and MS Windows environments.
Develop and maintain simulator software, scripts, and configurations.
Conduct testing to ensure functionality and quality of simulator solutions.
Collaborate with clients and internal teams to address simulator requirements.
Support ongoing enhancements and upgrades of existing simulator systems.
Prepare technical documentation and user guides for simulator operations.
Assist in project planning and provide technical input for simulator development.
Participate in occasional on-site or offshore visits as required (primarily office-based, ~80–90% in Stavanger).
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Automation, Cybernetics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Experience with Siemens SIMATIC software and control systems for oil & gas operations is advantageous.
Strong knowledge of Windows, MS Excel, and MS Access for handling large datasets.
Programming/scripting experience for simulation or control systems.
Required Skills:
Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English;
Strong written and verbal Norwegian (B1/B2) Language.
Willingness to travel occasionally to client or yard locations.
