About the Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient Electrical Engineer for one of our client's to join their engineering team .
You will play a pivotal role in the execution of electrical system engineering for our offshore projects, ensuring technical integrity, compliance with safety standards (HSSE), and high-quality delivery. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the oil and gas industry, specifically with offshore EIT installations, and will be responsible for the full lifecycle of electrical procurement and system documentation.
What You'll Do?
Engineering & Design: Lead electrical system engineering for Low Voltage (LV) consumers and switchboards, including complex electrical calculations such as short-circuit analysis.
System Integration: Execute general field instrument engineering, automation and control engineering, and Fire & Gas (F&G) systems engineering.
Procurement & Supplier Management: Manage electrical procurement packages, coordinate with suppliers, review technical documents/drawings, and perform technical procurement activities for mechanical packages (PRD).
Documentation & Quality: Oversee as-built of supplier drawings and red-line mark-ups received from offshore; ensure accurate tag and drawing updates.
Project Controls: Prepare Material Take-Offs (MTOs), requisitions, and installation job-cards. Manage Change Requests (CRs) by identifying and inputting necessary scope changes.
Field Support: Provide engineering input to job packages and assist with layout design, cable dimensioning, and field instrumentation/valve specifications.
Coordination: Collaborate effectively with other disciplines, suppliers, and clients to ensure project success.
HSSE & Quality: Take full responsibility for maintaining high Quality and HSSE standards within all assigned project tasks.
Reporting: Regularly report on project status, technical hurdles, and matters of importance to the Discipline Lead and Engineering Manager.
To Succeed in This Role:
Education: Relevant Vocational school degree, BSc, or MSc in Electrical Engineering and/or a valid Trade Certificate, combined with relevant professional experience.
Industry Experience: Minimum 2 years of proven experience within the Oil & Gas industry.
Technical Expertise:
Strong knowledge of offshore EIT installations, requirements, and standards.
Significant experience in supplier coordination, procurement follow-up, and technical documentation (as-builts).
Solid grasp of estimation work and activity planning.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of Equinor systems.
Practical experience in replacing EX lighting.
Languages: Proficiency in both Norwegian and English (written and spoken) is required.
Software Skills: Familiarity with project-specific software tools and standard engineering documentation platforms.
Evaluation Criteria:
Experience from the oil and gas industry and offshore EIT installations.
Electrical system engineering experience including LV consumers, switchboards, and electrical calculations.
Supplier coordination, procurement package follow-up, and technical documentation review.
Knowledge of Equinor systems, EX lighting replacement, and strong communication skills.
