Head Finance
Job Summary
The Head – Finance will be responsible for overseeing the organization's financial strategy, accounting, budgeting, taxation, treasury, costing, audits, statutory compliance, MIS, and financial planning & analysis (FP&A). The role requires a commercially focused finance leader who can partner with the leadership team to drive profitability, optimize costs, and support business expansion.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Strategy & Planning
Develop and execute the company's financial strategy aligned with business objectives.
Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, long-range financial planning, and business performance reviews.
Provide strategic financial insights to support investment decisions and business growth.
Monitor financial performance and recommend actions to improve profitability and cash flow.
Financial Accounting & Reporting
Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
Review balance sheets, profit & loss statements, cash flow statements, and financial dashboards.
Present financial performance and business insights to senior management.
Costing & Manufacturing Finance
Lead product costing, standard costing, variance analysis, and cost optimization initiatives.
Analyze manufacturing costs, inventory valuation, overhead allocation, and profitability by product line.
Partner with Operations to improve productivity and reduce manufacturing costs.
Establish financial controls across procurement, production, warehousing, and inventory management.
Budgeting & Financial Analysis
Prepare annual operating budgets and monitor budget utilization.
Conduct financial analysis, profitability analysis, and business performance reviews.
Develop financial models for new projects, capital investments, and expansion initiatives.
Track KPIs and recommend corrective actions where required.
Treasury & Working Capital Management
Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and liquidity planning.
Optimize working capital through efficient receivable, payable, and inventory management.
Negotiate banking facilities, loans, and credit arrangements.
Monitor foreign exchange exposure where applicable.
Taxation & Statutory Compliance
Ensure compliance with GST, Income Tax, TDS, Companies Act, and other statutory regulations.
Coordinate direct and indirect tax filings.
Liaise with auditors, tax consultants, bankers, and regulatory authorities.
Manage statutory, internal, tax, and cost audits.
Internal Controls & Risk Management
Develop and strengthen internal financial controls and governance frameworks.
Identify financial risks and implement mitigation strategies.
Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Drive process automation and continuous improvement within finance operations.
Team Leadership
Lead, mentor, and develop the Finance & Accounts team.
Build a high-performance finance organization through coaching and capability development.
Foster collaboration with Operations, Procurement, Sales, HR, and Supply Chain teams.
Desired Candidate Profile
Chartered Accountant (CA) is mandatory.
MBA (Finance) or CMA/ICWA will be an added advantage.
12-15 years of progressive experience in Finance & Accounts, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Strong experience in manufacturing or engineering industries.
Excellent knowledge of financial accounting, costing, taxation, treasury, budgeting, and financial planning.
Experience handling statutory, internal, tax, and cost audits.
Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar.
Strong analytical, commercial, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
